Enugu’s Projects & Advancements Since The Time Of Governor Ugwuanyi

The founding fathers experienced unbounded enthusiasm and a sense of success upon the creation of Enugu State on August 27, 1991. It completed the “Wawa” people’s freedom to live in a society built on the foundations of justice, equity, and peace.

No wonder Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi reiterated his commitment to the hopes and goals of the state’s founding fathers in his 2015 inaugural speech, promising to “take up the gauntlet of the struggle for the emancipation of the Wawa man from where our heroes past stopped.”

Governor Ugwuanyi also vowed, in accordance with the ideals and aspirations of the founding fathers of Enugu State, to “deploy government services to create fair and equal opportunity for every willing citizen to make a living, educate our children, and enjoy life in a peaceful and secure environment”, while pursuing vigorously, employment generation, enhanced social services and good governance, rural development, security and justice.

The governor has skillfully carried out this sound vision despite a slew of obstacles facing the nation’s economy, security, and public health, among other things.

Below are some advancement and changes that he has done:

SECURITY

The Enugu State governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, gave 85 motorcycles to the state’s 17 local government areas to help the rural residents and neighborhood watch combat crime and other security issues. The governor, who was present at the motorcycles’ inauguration and was represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Chijioke Edeoga, gave the Council Chairmen instructions to make sure the motorcycles are used wisely for the intended purposes.

Prince Cornelius Nnaji, the state chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, or ALGON, thanked the governor for his bold initiatives to improve state security and gave him the assurance that the motorcycles would significantly help the neighborhood watch in the Council areas carry out their duties.

RECONSTRUCTION OF POLY CLINIC – ILUKWE STREET, ASATA, ENUGU

Poly Clinic -Ilukwe street, Asata, Enugu was reconstructed by Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration.

But these are only a few of his creations. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the governor, still exudes the same passion for leadership that he did seven years ago, motivated by his conviction that governments exist to ensure the welfare of their citizens.

“Matching faith with the correct judgments and good work” entails allocating resources effectively to the advantage of the entire population, as the governor of Enugu State has shown. It also entails abandoning the antiquated practice of allocating an excessively large amount of budgets to recurrent expenses at the expense of capital expenditures. Even during the height of Covid-19, when many states scaled back their capital budgets due to the associated economic challenges of the pandemic, Enugu State has significantly revamped its infrastructure in the last seven years.

Making the people the center of government policy is not just a cliché for the cameras, according to Ugwuanyi. Even when it seems least convenient, it must be shown.
